Getting Ready for Baby Abigail

David and I have been busy preparing for the arrival of our first baby... Abigail. We just finished our 5-week childbirth class, where we learned many important details about the labor and delivery process and practiced breathing techniques to help us (me) get through labor/ delivery... hopefully without drugs. We'll see. Our childbirth teacher, Kate, was hilarious and I think half the fun was watching the looks on all the men's faces as she imitated the grunts and facial expressions one might have during a contraction. We also took a class called "The Happiest Baby on the Block" on how to soothe Abby when she cries... we had fun practicing the 5 S's: swaddling, side/stomach, shushing, swaying, sucking. Our second bedroom has been officially converted from office/guestroom to nursery/guestroom. The room is coming along quite well and just needs a few final touches, namely, the letters of her name we ordered to put above her crib. We are also excited to hang the valances I received at my shower last weekend... they should add a little color to tone down those green walls. More pics to come as we add some more touches.



With one shower behind us, we now have quite a bit of gear for the baby... I'm not exactly sure where we're going to put it all... thank goodness we have a garage now! As you can see, David is having fun trying out the goods!
