4. Abigail also got to meet David's grandmother, Granny, last weekend. As David pointed out while we were visiting, Granny longed for this child way before we did! When David and I got engaged, Granny said to us, "So... you're getting married in July... so I can expect a little one next April, right?!" Well, after 4 1/2 years of baby comments, Granny finally got to welcome and hold her first great-grandchild. It was a touching moment!
5. In the postpartum department... this past week I was able to button my first two pairs of regular jeans again. Only one pair really fits me, but, it was encouraging nonetheless. Hopefully once I lose a few more pounds, I will be able to squeeze into more pants. (I pretty much refuse to wear my maternity pants anymore!) I am enjoying being able to exercise again but I definitely still miss running! That darn "diastis recti" or split in my abdominal muscles from pregnancy is keeping me out of the running circuit for a little while longer. Hopefully, by mid-late spring I'll be able to hit the trails again and rejoin my Saturday morning running group. It's been since last April and I can't wait to get back!
6. Abigail turned two months old on February 9th and had her first shots last week. She weighs 13 pounds now and is 23 inches long. She is in the 93rd percentile for weight, 75th % for height, and 50th % for head circumference... She's growing so fast! Abigail has also started making a lot more sounds this week and "talking" (responding to us in coos and sounds), which has been a lot of fun. The beginning of language development... amazing!
7. Last week I put Abigail in one of the dresses that I wore as a baby. She barely fit in it... I was a much smaller baby!
8. We had the privilege of having our dear friends John and Kristen Mizell out for a visit last weekend. It was so fun to introduce them to Abigail and to spend some time talking about motherhood (she's expecting their third child this May) and catching up.
9. Tara came over for a game of cards and played with Abigail... I don't think Tara has the best hand here, or at least Abigail doesn't think so:
10. Abigail received her first valentine from a boy... Kyle Geliske. It was super cute (see below) and we sent Kyle the picture below it in response:
